Busy workdays call for quick and easy breakfast options. There is nothing to start your day well with a nice and hearty breakfast. What do they say, eat breakfast like a king! But you also don't want to doze off on your laptop after eating like the said king! Well, smoothies come to the rescue.
Smoothies are always so nutrient dense and so filling which definitely makes them healthy. There are a ton of options you can try for different flavors. Whatever fruit or veggie you like, just add and a different smoothie is ready. I once read an article titled 'eat by color' which simply meant, the more colors you have on your plate, the healthier your food is going to be. Now, don't go and grab a pack of m&m's and call it healthy! :D
Old fashioned oats is my go to breakfast when I don't really wanna cook much. Overnight oats is simply soaking oats in milk in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours (or overnight) and consuming with my choice of fruit (for sweetness) in the morning. I thought of making a smoothie out of it today. Frozen banana gave it a good creamy texture and my all time favorite color was given by adding a little beetroot. I had a few leftover strawberries so I thought why not, just put it in the blender and blend smooooothe!
Ingredients:
Frozen Banana- 1
Oats- 1 cup
Milk-1 cup
Beetroot- 1/4 cup (grated)
Strawberry- 4-5
Honey- 1 tbsp (optional)
Almonds- 1 tbsp (chopped)
Granola- 1 tbsp (optional)
Method:
1. Soak oats in milk overnight in the refrigerator.
2. Blend frozen banana, soaked oats, beetroot, strawberries and honey until you get a smooth consistency.
3. Add granola and almonds as garnish and enjoy the filling goodness!
Nupur, this is such fun consuming more strawberries in summer.
