The Indian festive season is already here and sweets are synonymous with festivities. But, since we also have to keep those naughty calories in check, how about this healthy version of the most amazing sugarless laddus I have tried.
These laddus are moist, melt in mouth and oh so yumm.. And the best part, they are totally guilt free and so so healthy.
They are sweetened with DATES and RASINS! Almond flour is a healthy low-carb alternative to regular flours. And there is a mix of some more nuts because why not! It gives a great nutty taste.
Ingredients:
Almond flour- 1 cup
Course ground nuts- 1 cup (i used cashews, walnuts, peanuts and almonds)
Ghee- 1/4 cup
Warm water- 1 cup
Dates- 5 (pits removed)
Raisins- 1/4 cup
Milk- 2 tbsp
Dry coconut powder- 1/4 cup (as needed for binding)
Method:
Soak dates & raisins in warm water for 20 min
Then blend it into a fine paste with milk
Dry roast almond flour until light brown. Then add ground nuts.
Take it off heat. Let it cool down just a little bit.
Add ghee, dates-raisins paste and give it a mix.
Add coconut powder as needed to bind laddu
You have to try these yummy laddus to believe it. They are very flavorful and perfect to satisfy your sweet craving without compromising the calorie count.
